BAMS Course equal in duration to Modern Medicine Course. The duration of the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) course is five years and six months including one year Internship, which is equal to the duration of MBBS course.

About Course

BAMS course focuses on the Ayurvedic treatment of the disease along with modern medicine.

Ayurveda traces its roots to the Vedic Times. It is totally based on the marvelous properties of the herbs and its medicines are well known for their contents of natural elements.

Ayurveda has gained a lot of prominence in India as it is treated as the alternative method for the treatment of diseases.

There are many diseases that are not treated by only western medicine. But, with the help of Ayurveda, a number of diseases are cured without any side effects.


Eligibility Criteria:-

The minimum academic requirements for getting admission in BAMS is 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as compulsory subjects.

The admission in the courses of BAMS is based on the marks obtained by the candidates in the NEET examination

The student should be 17 yrs old.


Admission Process:-

National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) is the basis for the selection of the students in BAMS

The centralized counseling held after the NEET exam for the admission of the NEET qualified students in the various courses of the medical science according to their performance in the Entrance exam i.e. NEET.

Interviews are also done by various colleges for giving admission to the students in BAMS.
